HEA Energy has acquired jack up vessels Thor and Wind Lift 1 from Semco Maritime.
The acquisition, combined with a long-term charter agreement that secures continued vessel availability for Semco Maritime, creates a powerful platform for major component exchange (MCE) and major component overhaul (MCO) services in the European offshore wind market.
The partnership brings together Semco Maritime’s deep technical expertise in offshore wind services with HEA Energy’s maritime expertise through more than 40 years and access to a scalable marine operating platform.
The partnership will be supported by Semco Maritime’s dedicated overhauling facility in Emden, Germany, featuring a 450t gantry crane and direct access to the North Sea.
The facility serves as a strategic hub for the refurbishment, overhaul and logistics of major wind turbine components, providing efficient support for both existing and future offshore wind projects.
