OEG secures subsea corrosion protection contract for Gennaker OWF

Monday, August 10 2026

Baltic Sea

OEG has won a contract from OWP Gennaker to provide a subsea corrosion protection solution for the Gennaker offshore wind farm (OWF) in the German Baltic Sea.

The project is being developed by the offshore wind infrastructure platform, Skyborn Renewables.

Under the terms of the contract, OEG will provide Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems to safeguard the wind turbine foundations against corrosion throughout the operational lifespan of the wind farm, thereby ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of one of Germany’s flagship offshore wind projects.

OEG’s scope of work includes delivering a complete end-to-end solution, encompassing detailed engineering, procurement, manufacturing oversight, offshore logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning of the ICCP system.

OEG’s experienced project management and offshore teams will execute the offshore installation campaign using proven methodologies and specialist subsea equipment.

In partnership with CORROSION, OEG will also deploy the ICCP-Subsea Assembly Method (SAM): an innovative remote installation system that the two companies have developed together.

This technology enables the safe and efficient installation of ICCP systems on subsea offshore structures, reducing installation complexity and supporting efficient offshore execution.

Engineering and procurement activities will commence immediately, followed by manufacturing support, system integration, and offshore installation, all in line with the wind farm’s overall construction programme.
