This milestone represents both a technical achievement and collaboration among colleagues and partners.

This achievement includes several industry firsts:

• One of Japan’s first fixed-bottom offshore wind projects in a general sea area awarded through a public tender.

• The first offshore wind farm design in Japan for turbines exceeding 10 MW.

• A world-first support structure design for a 15 MW offshore wind turbine that incorporates seismic loading alongside international offshore design standards.

• The earliest Japanese wind farm to have achieved certification, after just two years.

Balancing European offshore design standards with Japan’s unique seismic requirements created an engineering challenge that required close collaboration and perseverance across multiple teams.
