Upgrade
Allseas has returned its 28-year-old pipelay vessel, the Lorelay, to service following a 10-month upgrade programme.
Significant upgrades have been made to the vessel’s pipelay systems, power generation, automation, accommodation and operational equipment. These enhancements will improve efficiency, reliability and sustainability, and prepare the vessel for the next generation of offshore projects.
This ensures that Lorelay can continue to support a wide range of offshore operations, including subsea pipeline installation, decommissioning and offshore energy infrastructure projects.
Rather than replacing the vessel, Allseas has invested in upgrading its existing asset to meet evolving industry requirements and improve operational performance.
The return of the Lorelay highlights a growing trend across the offshore sector of modernising existing fleets with advanced technologies to improve safety, reduce emissions and maximise long-term asset value.
