Drilling

Turkish Petroleum has commenced drilling its newest ultra-deepwater exploration well, Taskopru-1, in the central Black Sea.

This follows the recent completion of the Eflani-1 well in the same region, as part of a multi-well campaign in the gas-rich area. Drillship Fatih spudded the well.

The Taskopru-1 well is situated approximately 22 kilometers northeast of Eflani-1 and less than 10 kilometers south of the maritime boundary with Ukraine. It is being drilled in 2,164 meters of water.
