Noble Corporation has won a contract worth more than $130 million to drill offshore Brunei Darussalam with its drillship Noble Viking.

The US rig owner confirmed that it had secured the contract with an unnamed customer for drilling operations in Brunei. The six-well charter has an estimated contract value of around $136.2 million, excluding managed pressure drilling (MPD) and additional services.

The drilling campaign is scheduled to start in early 2028 and is expected to last 296 days, keeping Noble Viking contracted through to the end of the year. The contract also includes three optional wells at an additional cost.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to support this upcoming drilling campaign in Brunei,” commented Blake Denton, Noble’s senior vice president of contracts and marketing.

Noble Viking is a high-specification, ultra-deepwater drillship. Built in 2013 by South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries, the dynamically positioned drillship is designed to operate in water depths up to 12,000 feet.
