Boskalis’ semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Trustee will make multiple voyages over the coming months between Bilbao, Spain, and Teesworks.

The vessel will serve as a courier for dozens of monopile foundations, each measuring an average of 90 meters in length and weighing more than 1,600 tons, destined for the future Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm developed by Ørsted.

The Trustee loads three monopiles per voyage in Spain and delivers them to the United Kingdom, making the vessel a perfect delivery service for Hornsea 3.

With 197 planned wind turbines and a capacity of 2.9 GW, Hornsea 3 will become the single largest offshore wind farm in the North Sea, supplying green electricity to over 3.3 million households.
