CSOVs

Singapore-based company Marco Polo Marine has signed a multi-year framework agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for the deployment of two commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) in the Asia-Pacific region.

The deal, negotiated through Marco Polo Marine’s PKR Offshore unit, will cover Siemens Gamesa projects in Taiwan on a non-exclusive basis. Both parties are also considering work in South Korea and Japan.

The initial term begins in 2029 and lasts two years, though the agreement permits an earlier start in 2028 and extensions of one to three years.

The vessels will be fitted with Siemens Energy’s BlueDrive PlusC hybrid propulsion system, which is designed to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Marco Polo Marine already has one CSOV in operation: the MP Wind Archer, which began its first charter in Taiwan in April 2025. A second vessel is under construction at Marco Polo Marine’s shipyard in Batam, scheduled for delivery in Q2 2028. A third unit is still in the planning stage.
