Northland Power and ORLEN have delivered the first electricity from the 1.1GW Baltic Power offshore wind farm.

The project, located approximately 23 kilometres off the Polish coast near Choczewo and Łeba, continues through its installation and commissioning phase ahead of planned commercial operations in the second half of 2026.

Northland Power said 54 of the project’s 76 Vestas 15MW offshore wind turbines have been installed. Work is now focused on completing the installation of the remaining turbines and final commissioning activities before the wind farm enters full commercial service.

The company said the phased commissioning process has enabled the project to begin supplying electricity to the national grid while construction continues offshore.
