New 5,000-tonne floating crane for Drydocks World

Launch

Drydocks World has successfully launched the ALNOKHADA, its new 5,000-tonne floating crane.

Inspired by the rich Gulf’s maritime heritage, ALNOKHADA embodies the spirit of the region’s captains, symbolizing leadership, resilience, and the courage to navigate across challenging waters.

Its name pays tribute to those who once guided fleets across the Arabian Gulf, shaping a legacy that continues to influence modern maritime excellence.

Built in collaboration with ZPMC Offshore, the project now progresses into its outfitting phase, as we prepare for final commissioning for one of the region’s most capable heavy-lift assets.

Spanning 138.5 metres in length, with a 52-metre beam and a 5.8-metre draft, the crane is equipped with a powerful lifting system combining a 5,000-tonne main hook with a 600-tonne auxiliary hook reaching up to 180 metres.

Once operational, ALNOKHADA will play a pivotal role in expanding Drydocks World’s heavy lift capacity, supporting increasingly complex offshore, industrial, and energy projects across the region.
