Only nine companies remain in contention for the country’s first offshore wind auction and are now advancing to the next stage of the evaluation process, a senior official of the Philippines Department of Energy (DOE) said.
Energy Undersecretary Mylene Capongcol said of the 95 service contracts awarded by the government, only 20 signified their intent to participate in the fifth green energy auction (GEA-5).
The pool of applications was subsequently narrowed to nine after only these contracts passed the initial stage of evaluation. The bids will next be assessed based on their infrastructure development plans.
