French offshore services provider Bourbon has named Subsea7 veteran Olivier Blaringhem as its new chief executive.

Blaringhem will take over on 14 September, according to a statement released by Bourbon on Thursday. He will succeed Gael Bodenes, who has been chief executive since 2017.

The incoming leader has more than 25 years of experience in the maritime arena and has held positions in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, according to Bourbon.

Blaringhem joined Subsea7 in 2002, serving as executive vice president of subsea and conventional since January 2020. Prior to that, he was the company’s vice president of Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Blaringhem is also chief executive of the Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA), a joint venture between Subsea7 and SLB OneSubsea.
