Wind Energy – Newbuilding

Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) has launched its new service operation vessel (SOV), the Orient Inspirer.

The vessel has now entered the final stage before its delivery in Q4 of this year.

Vestas has chartered the new SOV, having signed a contract with DFO in 2024 for an SOV to serve the Changfang-Xidao and Zhong Neng offshore wind farms in Taiwan.

Following this contract, DFO announced that the Orient Inspirer would be the first of two Taiwan-flagged vessels to be delivered from the shipyard in the last quarter of 2026.
