Çağrı Bey arrives in Somalia for Curad-1

Early April TPAO 12,000-ft drillship Çağrı Bey has arrived offshore Somalia and started preparations to begin the Turkish state company’s first offshore drilling operations in the East African country.

This will also mark TPAO’s first well drilled with this rig, which the company purchased in 2025.

The drillship set off from Turkiye in February of this year and will make its official arrival at Mogadishu on 10 April 2026.
