General – Vietnam

Pacifico Energy has secured a site survey licence for a 500 MW offshore wind project in Vietnam.

The company announced that the permit had been granted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for a project in the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Pacifico Energy added that this is one of the first licences to be awarded to a foreign developer in Vietnam.

The project is expected to support Vietnam’s energy security and economic growth targets.

The company has previously developed projects in Vietnam, including a 40 MW solar farm in Lam Dong and a 30 MW wind farm in Vinh Long.
