Wind Energy – Nordlicht

DEME has started scour protection works for Vattenfall’s Nordlicht 1 and 2 offshore wind farms, located about 85 km north of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea.

Using fallpipe vessel Flintstone, DEME is installing rock material at the planned foundation locations to protect against seabed erosion.

In a later stage, DEME will install 112 foundations and turbines at the 1.6 GW Nordlicht wind farms, contributing to Vattenfall’s offshore wind development in the North Sea and the energy transition in Germany.
