Thursday, March 12 2026

Wind Energy – Inch Cape

The first three jacket foundations for the 1,100MW Inch Cape offshore wind farm have arrived at the Port of Leith.

Located off the Angus coast, Inch Cape Offshore will feature 72 turbines across a 150 km² site, using a mix of jacket and XXL monopile foundations to suit water depths ranging from 34m to 64m.

The jackets delivered are up to 83 metres tall, weighing between 2,050 and 2,250 tonnes. Each consists of a three-legged lattice steel frame with a transition piece for turbine installation.

Transported by heavy lift vessel Hua Yang Long, the jackets were fabricated by COOEC-Fluor Corporation
