General – Subsea Cable Technology

Once again, Nexans’ teams have pushed the boundaries of technology, setting a new record by successfully installing and testing 525 kV mass-impregnated (MI) HVDC subsea cable technology.

The test took place at a depth of 3,000 metres in an offshore area west of Sicily, Italy.

The cable was tested at 30% above industry standards to ensure maximum reliability in the most extreme conditions.
