Wind Energy – Grid Connection
Seawind Asia has received official grid connection agreements for three offshore wind projects in the Philippines: Frontera Bay (450 MW), Guimaras Strait (600 MW), and Guimaras Strait 2 (600 MW).
These agreements are among the first issued for offshore wind farms in the Philippines, marking a milestone for the country’s offshore wind sector.
Seawind Asia is developing the projects through Sea Wind Management in Hamburg, in partnership with Triconti ECC in Manila and Stream Invest Holding in Switzerland.
The portfolio is being prepared for participation in the Philippines’ fifth Green Energy Auction, which is scheduled to take place later this year.
The Green Energy Auction programme is designed to allocate renewable energy capacity through a competitive process.
Seawind Asia and its partners will continue development work in the run-up to the auction to progress the projects towards construction, subject to the outcomes of the auction and permitting processes.
