General – Scotland
Enshore Subsea has been accepted onto Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Distribution’s subsea cable installation framework agreement, supporting a long-term programme of investment in Scotland’s electricity distribution network.

The multi-year framework will underpin the renewal and reinforcement of subsea electricity links serving island communities across the north of Scotland, supporting the continued decarbonisation of homes, businesses, and local industry.
The programme is designed to enhance network resilience and provide additional capacity to meet the growing demand as homes, businesses, and communities increasingly adopt low-carbon technologies.
SSEN Distribution’s investment programme will be delivered over the coming years, with projects allocated across several framework partners based on specialist capability and available resources.
The other four contract partners delivering investment on behalf of SSEN are Burntisland-based Briggs Marine; DOF Subsea UK and-Sea Group, both of which have bases in Aberdeen; and Jan de Nul Group. Specific projects will be allocated according to each contract partner’s specialisms and resources.
The framework approach is designed to provide greater certainty for delivery, enable efficient planning of works, and strengthen supply chains supporting subsea activity, while allowing multiple projects to be delivered efficiently within the limited seasonal weather windows available for subsea installation.
