Delivery offshore mooring and buoy control system

Thursday, February 12 2026

General – Oman

The Netherlands-based Straatman recently delivered and pre-commissioned an offshore mooring and buoy control system for Bluewater Energy Services in Oman.

The project consists of a buoy-based control and hydraulic release system for an offshore green ammonia export facility.

The system includes four buoys equipped with eight GMH-100 hydraulic release hooks, designed to operate safely in demanding offshore conditions.

In addition, Straatman supplied the full supporting systems for the installation, including solar power, navigation aid lights, a foghorn, and the control system for the HPU, subsea valves, and transmitters.

The scope also included a portable telemetry unit and a redundant SHF mesh network to ensure reliable offshore communication.
