Friday, February 6 2026

Wind Energy – WTIV

Hanwha Ocean has secured an order for a WTIV (Wind Turbine Installation Vessel) worth KRW 768.7 billion from Ocean Wind Power 1!

Scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2028, the vessel is currently under review for priority domestic offshore wind projects, including the Shinan Ui wind power project (Jeollanam-do, the Republic of Korea), with detailed operating plans being developed.

This WTIV will be Korea’s first vessel capable of installing 15MW-class large-scale offshore wind turbines, and is expected to be the largest WTIV in operation in the domestic offshore wind market.
