RWE has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Amazon for 110 MW of offshore wind capacity from its Nordseecluster B project in the German North Sea.
This makes it one of the largest offshore-wind PPAs in Germany.
The agreement builds on the Strategic Framework signed in 2025, under which RWE combines long-term carbon-free electricity supply for Amazon with cloud services, AI and data analytics from Amazon Web Services to support RWE’s digital transformation.
Nordseecluster B, located around 50 kilometres north of Juist, will add 900 MW of offshore wind capacity when it enters commercial operation in 2029, complementing Nordseecluster A (660 MW), which is currently under construction and scheduled for commissioning in early 2027.
