Dajin inks MoU to set up offshore wind foundations factory in Spain

General – Factory in Spain

Chinese offshore wind foundations manufacturer Dajin Heavy Industry and Spanish diversified holding Zima Equity Investments have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop a factory for offshore wind foundations at the port of Gijon in northern Spain.

The planned facility is intended to supply the European offshore wind market as well as other international markets.

The factory would also position the port of Gijon as a marshalling hub for offshore wind projects in Europe, strengthening its role in the sector’s supply chain, the companies said.

Zima’s head of corporate development, Miguel Zorita, said the new plant and marshalling port would provide a significant economic boost to the Asturias region and reinforce its strategic role in Europe’s energy transition. He added that the partners aim to integrate local subcontractors and suppliers into the project’s supply chain.

Dajin Heavy Industry’s business development manager, Artur Pielech, said the partnership would strengthen the group’s industrial presence in Europe, support the development of local content, and reinforce its global offshore foundations supply chain.
