30-year electricity production license for Thor

Wind Energy – Electricity

Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date, Thor, has received its 30-year electricity production licence from the Energistyrelsen.

Getting a 30-year electricity production licence is not just a formal step. It is a major milestone for RWE, for Denmark’s energy transition and a strong signal of the role offshore wind will play in Europe.

With the Danish Energy Agency’s approval, Thor Offshore Wind Farm can now move forward with a clear mandate to deliver green energy for decades to come.

Once fully operational in 2027, with a capacity of 1.1 GW, Thor will supply renewable electricity equivalent to more than one million Danish homes. But just as importantly, it will do so steadily and reliably, as part of the backbone of Denmark’s future energy system.
