Norse Wind on her way to North Sea

Wind Energy – Norse Wind

DEME’s next‑generation wind turbine installation vessel, Norse Wind, is steadily making her way to Europe.

This marks another step toward her upcoming delivery and operational readiness.

After passing the Cape of Good Hope, the vessel had a brief stopover in Walvis Bay (Namibia) for bunkers, to stock up on provisions, and crew change. With that stage completed, she is now continuing her long‑distance voyage north.

The initial operational steps for Norse Wind will include an O&M campaign, followed by a turbine installation contract for the RWE 1.6-GW Nordsee Cluster. This involves the transport and installation of at least 104 Vestas offshore wind turbines starting in late May 2026.
