General – Launching
On 16 January, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) held a launch ceremony for the Coral-Norte FLNG.
The FLNG was ordered by the Italian energy company ENI at the Geoje Shipyard.
Coral-Norte FLNG is the second ultra-large facility that SHI has built for ENI, following the first such facility in Africa, for which Samsung received an order in 2017 and which was delivered in 2021.
With its flagship FLNG facility anchoring its position, Samsung Heavy Industries continues to strengthen its standing as a global leader in offshore engineering. To date, SHI has secured six orders out of ten FLNG units ordered worldwide.
