General – Sail Away

McDermott International continues to demonstrate strong offshore execution with the successful load-out and sail-away of three jacket barges from CPOE Yard in Qingdao to the Al Shaheen Field, Qatar.

The Package 11 mega contract scope, awarded by North Oil Company Qatar, includes the installation of nine satellite wellhead platforms and jackets in two offshore campaigns.

Al Shaheen is one of the world’s largest hydrocarbon fields and is the largest oil field offshore Qatar, approximately 70 km northeast of Ras Laffan. The Ruya project will be executed over five years and aims to develop 550,000 bpd of oil.

It is expected to boost production of the Al Shaheen field by approximately 100,000 bpd with first oil in 2027.
