Hyundai secures foundation contract for Shinan Ui OWP

Wednesday, January 7 2026

Wind Energy – Shinan Ui

Hyundai has been awarded a contract for the Shinan Ui Offshore Wind Project.

The contract marks another milestone as the project advances toward offshore construction, and highlighting the growing role of domestic companies in South Korea’s offshore wind sector.

The contract was awarded by Hanwha Ocean, which recently assumed the role of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor for the project.

As the Shinan Ui project moves closer to the offshore construction phase, an increasing number of contracts are being awarded across the supply chain, signaling steady progress toward execution.

With an installed capacity of 390 MW, the project is considered moderate in size by current offshore wind standards, yet strategically significant for the domestic market.
