Ørsted has agreed to sell half of its ownership in the Hornsea Three offshore wind farm to global investment firm Apollo Global Management for $6.1 billion.

This is one of the largest transactions in the offshore wind sector to date.

Key points:

• Transaction value is $6.1 billion

• Hornsea Three is a major offshore wind project in the UK North Sea

• The deal highlights strong investor confidence in large-scale renewable energy assets

• Ørsted retains the remaining ownership and continues as project operator
