Yesterday, 17 December 2025, marked the start of the first historic auction for Polish offshore wind farms (OWF) in the Baltic Sea!
The energy sector is on edge – in this round, investors are competing to back projects totaling 4 GW, which will fundamentally alter the national energy mix.
The auction session, which is at the heart of the battle for the Baltic Sea, began at 8:00 a.m. and lasted until 6:00 p.m. The entire process was conducted entirely electronically via the Internet Auction Platform.
At stake is the right to cover the negative balance, meaning the winning projects will receive long-term price stability guarantees that are essential for implementing such massive investments.
