CIP’s 425 MW bid selected in Colombia’s offshore wind tender

Thursday, December 18 2025

Wind Energy – Colombia

According to an official filing published on Tuesday, Colombia’s National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) has declared a bid by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) eligible in the country’s first competitive process to grant offshore wind development rights.

Through the CI GMF II Cooperatief UA vehicle, the Danish investor submitted a valid offer for 425 MW to be installed in an offshore area spanning approximately 139.6 square kilometres (53.9 square miles) off the coast of Barranquilla.

CIP appears to be the only bidder to have presented an offer in October, placing the company on the ANH’s preliminary eligibility list. The ANH said that no objections were filed during the subsequent comment period, enabling the agency to publish the final list.

According to the timetable, the process to formally award the offshore lease will begin in the second half of February next year at the earliest, following a period of appeals and other official procedures.
