Wednesday, December 17 2025

Fossil Energy – Australia

Global subsea contractor Subsea 7 has been awarded a substantial new contract for the installation of ultra-deepwater production equipment in Australia.

The company said its workscope for the Gorgon Stage 3 (GS3) project include the procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning of subsea equipment and associated infrastructure at water depths of 1350 metres.

The contract with Chevron is valued at up to US$300 million, and offshore operations are expected in 2028.

The Stage 3 project will connect the Geryon and Eurytion offshore gas fields in the Greater Gorgon Area to existing processing facilities and the Gorgon liquefied natural gas facility in Western Australia.
