According to the statement, the U.S. oil major expects to fire the first seismic shot for its ultra-deepwater TTUD-1 block within two months of selecting a seismic acquisition contractor.

This update represents a faster timeline than the previously indicated second quarter of 2026.

Exxon was awarded the TTUD-1 block earlier this year and signed a production-sharing contract with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in August. The Ministry said that the company is working on an accelerated work programme.

Energy Minister Roodal Moonilal and other senior officials informed Exxon representatives that the government would optimise the permitting and approval processes to minimise delays and support the revised timeline.
