Transocean lands six-well fixture for drillship offshore Australia

Saturday, December 13 2025

Fossil Energy – Drilling

Transocean has secured a six-well contract for its Deepwater Skyros drillship offshore Australia.

The estimated 320-day campaign, awarded by an unnamed operator, is due to start early in 2027.

The $130 million contract excludes compensation for mob/demobilization, but it includes priced options that could keep the vessel working in Australian waters through early 2030.
