Fossil Energy – Seismic Survey

Staatsolie began a significant seismic survey on November 20 in the shallow offshore area near Saramacca and Coronie.

The project is being carried out in partnership with China’s BGP Offshore and Tomlinson Geophysical Services (TGS), based in Norway and the United States.

According to a Staatsolie statement, the two-month campaign covers approximately 2,000 square kilometers in waters that are between 20 and 50 meters deep.

Crews will collect high-quality seismic data to map potential oil and gas deposits and to guide future exploration efforts.
