Wind Energy – Philippines
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) will invest USD 3 billion to build its first offshore wind farm in Camarines Sur, marking its first project in Southeast Asia and a major boost to the Philippines’ clean energy transition goals.
CIP officials met with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Malacañang Palace on Tuesday, reaffirming their confidence in investing in the country’s renewable energy sector through their partner, ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions.
The planned USD 3-billion offshore wind project in Camarines Sur will form part of the country’s growing portfolio of large-scale renewable energy investments.
It follows earlier agreements signed in 2023 with the Department of Energy (DOE) for three offshore wind service contracts totalling 2 GW in capacity.
