Tuesday, November 11 2025

General – Testing Agreement

Ming Yang Smart Energy from China, and the UK’s Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, have signed a testing agreement.

Under the contract, ORE Catapult will provide testing and validation of the main bearing for Ming Yang Smart Energy’s 18.5 MW offshore wind turbine.

The test piece is scheduled to arrive at ORE Catapult’s National Renewable Energy Centre in Blyth, Northumberland, in the coming months and will undergo simulated real-world conditions that mimic what an operational 18.5 MW turbine would experience at sea.
