Wind Energy – Nordseecluster A

As of yesterday, all turbine foundations and secondary steel structures for the Nordseecluster A (660 MW) OWF have been installed.

With that milestone achieved, RWE’s largest offshore project in the German North Sea is visibly taking shape, according to Sven Utermöhlen, CEO, RWE Offshore Wind, in a personal post on social media.

Van Oord completed the installation using its vessels Boreas and Aeolus, after the 85-metre foundations had been shipped from Eemshaven in the Netherlands.

Construction is progressing as scheduled, with both substation foundations advancing well and internal cable installation set to begin early next year. Following important milestones at Sofia in the UK and Thor in Denmark, Nordseecluster A represents the next significant step in expanding our offshore capacity across Europe.
