Reconnaissance Permit Agreement for Eni

Tuesday, November 4 2025

Fossil Energy – Sierra Leone

Eni has been awarded a Reconnaissance Permit Agreement covering five deepwater blocks in Sierra Leone.

The blocks are G-113, G-129, G-130, G-131, and G-132, and combined, cover an area of ~6,790 km². The agreement is the first step before a more in-depth exploration permit can be obtained.

Eni will conduct a technical evaluation of the blocks. Attracting a first-rate explorer with an excellent track record of opening up basins across the region is a major boost for Sierra Leone.
