Eni and Petronas establish NewCo

Tuesday, November 4 2025

General – Independent Company

Today marks a new chapter in Eni’s growth journey, and a milestone for both Eni and PETRONAS.

Both companies signed a binding agreement to establish an independent company (NewCo) under equal ownership, by combining our respective upstream assets, strengthening our presence in Indonesia and Malaysia, and advancing our satellite strategy.

The new entity will manage 19 upstream assets (14 in Indonesia and 5 in Malaysia), combining complementary portfolios, technical strengths, and regional expertise to create long-term value and ensure operational excellence, and it will operate as a financially self-sufficient entity, with in excess of USD 15 billion of planned investments over the next five years.
