Wind Energy – Realignment
DEME announced today a strategic realignment among shareholders involved in the ScotWind offshore wind projects.

The restructuring aims to streamline operations and better align each partner’s expertise with the technological focus of their respective projects.
Under the new arrangement, DEME Concessions and Aspiravi International have become joint owners of the Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm, holding stakes of 70% and 30%, respectively.
Located approximately 44 kilometres off the coast of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, the 1 GW Bowdun project will be developed in waters less than 70 metres deep—conditions well-suited for fixed-foundation turbines, most likely using jacket foundations. Construction on Bowdun is expected to begin in 2031.
As part of the ownership reshuffle, both DEME Concessions and Aspiravi International have exited the Ayre Offshore Wind Farm project, while Qair International has withdrawn from Bowdun and taken full ownership of the Ayre project.
The Ayre development will focus on floating foundation turbine technology, reflecting Qair’s growing expertise in that field.
Despite the changes, all three companies, DEME, Aspiravi International, and Qair International, remain active partners in Thistle Wind Partners (TWP), their long-standing joint venture.
TWP continues to play a central role in supporting the planning, preparation, and delivery of both the Bowdun and Ayre offshore wind farms within the ScotWind program.
