General – Engineering and Consultancy
Ternan Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with offshore transmission specialist Njord Subsea to deliver integrated engineering and consultancy services for offshore wind and subsea cable projects.
Ternan Energy is an independent Aberdeen-based consultancy providing marine geoscience support to major offshore developers including Ocean Winds, RWE Renewables, SSE, Ørsted and CorPower Ocean.
Njord Subsea, founded in 2024 by industry veterans Andrew Newman and Benjamin Vick, offers specialist offshore grid consultancy and engineering expertise for renewable developers and transmission operators, focusing on complex EPCI and large-scale infrastructure projects.
“As offshore wind projects push into deeper waters and more challenging environments, developers need integrated expertise that spans from seabed to grid connection,” said Euan Marjoribanks, Managing Director of Ternan Energy. “This partnership brings together two highly complementary skillsets — our deep understanding of marine geoscience and foundation engineering, combined with Njord’s specialist knowledge of offshore transmission systems and subsea cables. Together, we can provide clients with seamless technical support across the entire offshore infrastructure challenge.”
Under the new partnership, the two firms will collaborate across all project phases—from early site assessment and development through to installation, commissioning, and operations—offering clients a comprehensive engineering and consultancy solution.
The MoU establishes a framework for sharing technical expertise and resources across engineering, design, construction and operations, while jointly pursuing new opportunities in the rapidly expanding offshore renewables market.
