Siemens Gamesa pauses Esbjerg offshore wind factory plans

Tuesday, October 28 2025

General – Esbjerg

A shift in the offshore wind manufacturing landscape is underway as Siemens Gamesa announced it is shelving its plans for an offshore wind turbine nacelle factory at the Port of Esbjerg in Denmark.

The Spanish-German engineering company confirmed that the decision was influenced by current market conditions that call for greater stability and clarity before moving forward with new investments.

Despite this pause, Siemens Gamesa emphasized that the Port of Esbjerg remains a cornerstone of its offshore operations. The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a strong presence there, continuing to explore investment opportunities as market conditions evolve.

A company spokesperson noted that Esbjerg remains strategically important for its offshore wind activities and future operations.
