Kevin McLachlan, former TotalEnergies senior vice president of exploration, will become Chevron’s vice president of exploration on 1 November.

Chevron has tapped a former TotalEnergies executive as its new global exploration leader with its current executive in the role set to retire, the US supermajor announced Tuesday.
Kevin McLachlan, who led TotalEnergies’ exploration efforts for a decade as senior vice president, will replace Liz Schwarze, who is retiring in February after a 36-year run with the company.
McLachlan will be based in Houston, where Chevron relocated its corporate headquarters in 2024.
In addition to TotalEnergies, McLachlan also has experience at Murphy Oil, Nexen and ExxonMobil, according to Chevron. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary.
