Wind Energy – Windanker OWF

Iberdrola has installed the first monopile at the 315-MW offshore wind farm Windanker in the German Baltic Sea, marking the construction start of the project.

The work has now begun after the delivery of the monopiles was completed in August.

Windanker is expected to be operational by the end of 2026, supplying energy sufficient to power 315,000 homes, the company said in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday.

The monopiles, which were manufactured by Spanish shipbuilder Navantia and wind tower maker Windar Renovables, will be installed by marine contractor Van Oord.
