General – Newbuilding
Piet Jan Giessen, Chief Technical Officer Offshore Wind Logistics B.V. reported on LinkedIn the kick off of the construction on CSL OWL’s first Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) vessel.

At the steel cutting ceremony on mid September Van der Giessen, activated the laser cutter on the first steel plate.
This is the first of two SRI vessels CSL OWL is developing to support offshore wind projects. Designed for cost-efficiency and peak performance in water depths up to 100 metres, each vessel features:
• 17,500 MT of cargo capacity;
• DP2 dynamic positioning;
• Dual-fuel engines (marine gas oil and methanol).
