Damaged export cable forces Ørsted later wind farm commission

Tuesday, September 9 2025

Wind Energy – Greater Changhua

Ørsted has pushed back the commissioning date of a 300MW wind farm in Taiwan by nearly a year over cable issues.

The Greater Changhua 2b project was scheduled to come online later this year, but a damaged length of export cable has forced the developer to postpone full power.

Despite this drawback, Ørsted said the installation of the remaining wind turbines will continue as planned, with all foundations already in place, and operations at the nearby 2a array will not be affected.
