The rig is now en route from Australia to Singapore, ahead of its planned conversion into an integrated drilling and wellhead platform for use at the Maromba development offshore Brazil.

Valaris and BW Energy announced the planned sale and purchase of the 1998-built LeTourneau Super Gorilla Class design rig in May 2025 for cash proceeds of around $108 million.

The handover was completed as planned in August after the rig finished up its drilling contract with Jadestone Energy offshore Australia.
