Wind Energy – Dogger Bank D

Halfdan Brustad, Vice President at Equinor announced on social media that the Dogger Bank 50:50 joint venture shareholders SSE and Equinor have finalised a seabed lease with The Crown Estate to progress the Dogger Bank D offshore wind project.

“It has been a long journey starting spring 2021 to explore if one could get more installed capacity on the original Dogger Bank C area (eastern part) and now after 4 years we have made it happen. This marks the latest important milestone in the development of a proposed fourth phase of the world’s largest offshore wind farm, the 3.6GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm currently in construction off the coast of England in the North Sea.”

The next milestone is to secure a Development Consent Order followed by a final investment decision.

This fourth phase has the potential to unlock an additional 1.5GW of renewable electricity capacity and would expand the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
